NATIVE GROOVE COLLECTIVE are a portable and mobile group of instrumentalists, who render a repertoire including original works and some South African classics on the trot.

NGC perform under the baton of arranger/conductor Mandla Mlangeni, who also opts to blow his own trumpet when arrangements allow. The core of the collective are actually jazz musicians, with several continuing their music education at the College of Music at the University of Cape Town.

Repertoire ranges from original compositions, through to African pop and contemporary standards, re-arranged for the multiple brass parts which make up NGC.
