Jaziel Brothers (South Africa)

The JAZIEL BROTHERS may be a new name to you, but they were born in the Eastern Cape, grew up in Klerksdorp and now living in Jozi. That's the story of The Jaziel Brothers. The singing duo is made up of Luthando and Ntobeko Ngcizela and if you think you've heard their sound before, that's because they've been making waves in Mzansi's music industry long before you knew who they were.

Ntobeko and Luthando are the brains behind Lesego's SAMA award winning album My Music. They produced and wrote tracks on My Music and their vocals featured prominently on some of his tracks, including his hit song "Africa Viva Tau". Their influence can also be heard on his gospel tune "KE TSHEPILE WENA", Jub Jub's "NDIKHOKHELE"; Kelly Khumalo hit single "ILOBOLO"

Their debut album, "THE BEGINNING" is the brothers' official entry and they do it with a lot of soul and heartfelt lyrical content. The brothers define their music as Urban Pop though they would prefer to call it "South Africa on another level". Their style is an eclectic mix of a bit of a lot of Afro, Soul, Pop, Gospel & kwaito, and it's an album that is inspired by things that happen around them all the time.

Their lyrics express the words that other musicians fail to express, for instance their charting hit single "NGEKE NDIPHINDE" is about a man telling a woman that he"s sorry - something that is popularly difficult for a guy to say.

Instrumentation:
vocals
Genre: afropop, gospel / spiritual
Having written and produced all but one song on the album, the brothers are confident that the slight presence of gospel in their vocal deliverance will not deter those who are not into gospel. In fact, their sound is addictive and does not grow old. This is proven by the fact that most of the songs were written more than 3 years ago when they were still under Guffy's label. Their motto: Give something that will still be relevant 5- 10 years down the line.

This is what makes them different to what's on the market already. Their image is unique, their album lacks the ever popular, but overdone gimmicks, and it is more soulful and more vocal than anything else available.

In the beginning God created South Africa's music industry.and the industry was without substance, creativity and full of gimmicks. He said "let there be real music" and the Jaziel Brothers were born. Jaziel means God's Comfort so music lovers here is your comfort, the Jaziel Brothers are in the house!
